My dissertation research uses interdisciplinary methods to develop preclinical laryngology interventions for unilateral vocal fold paralysis. This work explores the feasibility of using bioreactors and bioactive materials to study vocal fold fluid mechanics in vitro and develops computational models for optimization of implant design for type I thyroplasty from in vivo and ex vivo image derived data.
